Earlier today Marvel released a new clip from their upcoming movie Avengers: Endgame. The clip shows us the remaining Avengers, plus new recruit Carol Danvers at Avengers HQ coming up with a plan to kill Thanos. Now, this clip dropped around midday. And I thought nothing of it. I mean I was still hyped and it was great to see these characters strategise and clash heads. But fast forward a couple of hours later, it seems like I missed a crucial part of this clip. And it turns out that I wasn’t the only one.
Just as Thor goes up to approach Carol you hear a voice say “I have telepathy”. Listen closely down below (Turn up your volume really high)
Crazy right? Once you hear it you can no longer unhear it. From this clip it sounds like Carol’s voice. I’m no expert on the Captain Marvel character so this came as a surprise to me. But it kind of makes sense in the context of the clip. Straight after that line is said she isn’t phased by Thor summoning Stormbreaker right next to her. Maybe she read his mind and saw it coming. Other people have said the voice could possibly be Scarlet Witch as she’s communicating to the Avengers from the soul world. I personally don’t buy this theory. But what do you think of this line?
We are only 26 days away from the release of this year’s biggest event, Avengers: Endgame. And while the marketing for the movie has been scarce (in a good way) so has information about when we can finally purchase our tickets for the movie. In my experience tickets for blockbuster movies usually go on sale with a month and a half in advance. But not for Avengers: Endgame, they’re doing it on their own terms. They have earned that right to be honest. However, it may finally look like we’ll be able to purchase our this week, on April 2nd to be exact. ComicBook.com ran this story earlier and claimed the date was confirmed to them by an inside source.
So if all goes according to plan, we are all going to be purchasing our tickets on Tuesday. I swear this April is going to feel like one of the longest months ever!
Avengers: Endgame is set to be released on April 26
This year in Spider-Man: Far From Home we will get to see one of Spidey’s most famous villains on the big screen for the first time ever. Given how great Michael Keaton was as ‘Vulture’ in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Jake Gyllenhaal, has a lot of pressure to perform going into this role. Part of what makes Mysterio so beloved amongst Spider-Man fans is the character’s iconic look, with the fishbowl helmet in particular. Back in January, when the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home was released we got a good at Mysterio in action. But with the character flying through the air it’s kind of hard to examine all the little details on the suit. Today some promo art has leaked which I believe gives us our best look at Mysterio’s costume yet. With art you always get to see the finer details and what the creators were going for. And I was a fan of the suit at first anyway, but with this new look I love the suit even more. It’s slowly becoming one of my favourite suits in the MCU.
Take a look for yourself below:
I just love the way this suit looks! Not to mention I really liked the design of Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming too. I got to admit they’re doing a good job over there at Marvel with their villains so far. With the Fox and Disney deal completed I can’t help but think what Dr. Doom will look like in the MCU.
Let me know your thoughts on the suit down below.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is set to be released on 5 July, 2019
We’re only a month away from one of the biggest movie events of the year. Or all time some would say. But how long will this event known as Avenger: Endgame last? Well, according to AMC Theatres Avengers: Endgame has a runtime of just over 3 hours. 3 hours and 2 minutes to be specific. This would make it the longest movie in the MCU ever and rightly so. While this runtime hasn’t been officially confirmed by the studio yet I would be shocked if it doesn’t go past the 2 hour and 30 minute runtime of Avengers: Infinity War.
There you have it. We could potentially be in the theatres for 3 hours on April 25th. Make it longer by a couple more hours I wouldn’t mind.
The deal taking Fox to Disney has been in the works for the past couple of years. And today the deal has finally been made official. We all knew it was going to happen, but with a deal that is worth up to $73.1 billion it was never going to happen overnight. Now, this deal has major implications across the entertainment world. But with my platform of course, the most important part of the deal is now Disney will gain control of Fox’s comic book properties such as Deadpool and the X-Men. Before I go any further please don’t mistake me for being happy that thousands of people are set to lose their jobs. Fox wanted to sell and this is one of the consequences of it.
The main thing to take away from this deal from a comic book fans’ perspective is the Fantastic Four and X-Men are ‘coming home’. Deadpool included under the umbrella of the X-Men of course. But what does this mean for the MCU?
The future of the MCU
The future of the MCU is about to get a whole lot more exciting with the addition of these characters. The possibilities are endless. Not only are we getting the Fantastic Four and X-Men we’re also getting the characters who are apart of their universes such as Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer and Galactus. It feels like this deal came at the perfect time with MCU’s phase 3 winding down after Avengers: Endgame. Of course we won’t see the X-Men or Fantastic Four show up at the end of Avengers: Endgame. The films that are currently on Marvels slate after Endgame are Spider-Man: Far From Home, Black Widow and The Eternals. However, Kevin Feige did mention that they are going to be announcing all of the films for their upcoming phase 4 later this year. Will the X-Men and Fantastic Four be apart of that? You would have to think so right. They’ve known about this deal for so long I would be shocked if they haven’t been planning ahead for it. My only question is are the X-Men and Fantastic Four going to slot right in? Are they going to get their own movies first? Because according to reports they’re set to recast everyone from the Fox movies except for Ryan Reynolds.
Right now, as the deal has time to sink in for fans we won’t see its impact for a couple of years to come. But as it stands X-Men: Dark Phoenix and New Mutants will be the last X-Men movies under the Fox banner. And I’ve got to say it’s kind of a bittersweet moment for me. I for the most part liked the X-Men movies under Fox. But I cannot lie I’m hyped to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four exist within the same universe as the Avengers.
